Saturday 24 and Sunday 25 October

Saturday starts early with a free F45 Bootcamp at The Plaza, Uptown Dubai, from 8am to 10am. Registration is required, the first 100 guests get a giveaway bag, and the first 200 get breakfast at Uptown Social.

Later the same day, the Reetii Diwali Exhibition opens at Al Bader Ballroom, Shangri-La Dubai. It runs from 12 noon to 9pm on both Saturday and Sunday, with free entry and free valet parking, and you can walk in without registering.

Plan ahead: Halloween and beyond

Halloween plans are worth making now. Lucky Voice runs two days of karaoke and costume contests on 30 and 31 October, and Orilla hosts a Halloween drunch on 31 October. Families can head to Times Square Center for a free Halloween weekend from 30 October to 1 November.

Further out, Gymkhana Dubai serves a one-day Diwali tasting menu on 8 November. Check each venue for the latest times before you go, as programmes can change.

At SO/ Uptown Dubai, the Artisan Sandwich Bar at Brasserie Uptown serves five sandwiches daily until 6pm, from AED 45 to AED 55, or you can build your own. Newly opened Rocambolesco offers a Business Lunch on weekdays from 12pm to 3pm: a starter and main for AED 85, or the pizza of the day with a green salad for AED 60.

Lana Lusa has a weekday Business Lunch from 12pm to 3pm, with a starter, main and dessert for AED 99. SUR.Dubai runs a Mediterranean-inspired business lunch, Monday to Friday from 12pm to 4pm, at AED 105 per person.

Evenings and weekends

Citronelle has reopened for dinner, and every Wednesday from 6pm to 11pm ladies get one sushi roll and two hours of unlimited house wine and selected cocktails for AED 168. At Savant⁶, aperitivo runs every Thursday from 5pm to 8pm for AED 89, with drinks and access to a counter of savoury bites.

Lana Lusa’s Casa Lusa Brunch runs on Saturdays from 1pm to 5pm. It costs AED 300 without alcohol, AED 425 with house beverages and AED 625 with champagne.

At Uptown Social, a pet-friendly brunch on Saturday 31 October runs from 12pm to 4pm for AED 89 per person, with a starter, main and drink, and a complimentary puppuccino for pets. LOST is a free-spirited beach party more than a sit-down brunch. Expect acrobats soaring above the crowd, and music that builds from golden-hour grooves to high-energy beats. The sound is mostly deep, vocal and melodic house, and it suits the sound of the waves. • Plan for later. There’s an after-party that runs till late, so the afternoon can turn into a night if you’re up for it.
• Getting there. Palm Jumeirah is easiest by taxi. You can also take the monorail from the mainland.
