AKA Sushi Restaurant has officially opened at Mileo The Palm, adding a Japanese restaurant and lounge to the Palm Jumeirah hotel’s line-up of venues. It pairs a sushi-led menu with design-focused interiors and an evening programme that includes live DJ entertainment.
The kitchen is led by Executive Chef Hisatsugu Muneta, who hails from Osaka and has 21 years of experience across Japan, Hong Kong and Dubai. He has built a menu that draws on traditional techniques alongside a contemporary approach, using premium ingredients, familiar favourites and inventive flavour combinations.
The Menu
Sushi ranges from classics to signature creations. The Yakiniku Roll combines premium 9+ striploin with caviar, gold leaf and sweet chilli soy, while the Ebi Maki Roll pairs crispy shrimp tempura with tobiko, bonito flakes and spicy mayonnaise. The Unagi Maki features freshwater eel with traditional unagi sauce, and the California Roll is also on the list.
Beyond sushi, the menu includes Wagyu Short Ribs with wasabi shallot relish and a rich short rib sauce, a Wagyu Sando with Japanese mustard and fresh truffle in soft brioche bread, and Black Cod marinated in miso and served with pickled daikon.
After Dark
As the evening goes on, the venue shifts gear. Its interiors are designed for intimate dinners and celebratory gatherings, and live DJ entertainment sets a livelier pace as the night unfolds.
The grand opening was attended by the Consul General of Japan in Dubai and also marks the first anniversary of the hotel’s opening. AKA Sushi joins Papagalos, AY Restaurant, Matcha 16 Café, Fan Zone Sports Bar and AYA Rooftop among the hotel’s dining options.
