CupBop opens flagship Korean BBQ store on JBR

Fresh from its debut at UNTOLD Dubai, CupBop has opened its first standalone store in the city at JBR. The new outlet sits on The Walk and builds on the brand’s recent launches at Ibn Battuta Mall and Deira City Centre. The JBR store serves all customer favourites, including signature bowls, sauces, and sides. It also introduces an exclusive new chicken dish only available at this location.

CupBop began in 2013 as a bright yellow food truck in Utah. Founded by Junghun Song and later joined by Dok Kwon, the brand grew through a simple concept: fast Korean BBQ served in a fun and easy way. After gaining national attention in the US, including a feature on Shark Tank, CupBop expanded internationally. The brand now continues to grow across Dubai.

The JBR outlet is CupBop’s most lively location to date. The store features bold colours, open spaces, and a street food layout. It aims to serve beach visitors, local residents, and anyone looking for a quick and flavour-packed meal.

The menu allows guests to build their own bowl. Customers choose a base, protein, and spice level before shaking the cup to mix the flavours. Sauce levels range from #1, which is sweet and mild, to #10, which delivers strong heat. The popular #7.5 sits in the middle and remains a top choice for regular customers.

Popular menu items include the B-BOP with bulgogi beef, the KKO KKO BOP with BBQ chicken, and the ROCK BOP with crispy fried chicken. Those who enjoy crunch can choose the KRUNCH BOP. Plant-based options include the VEGGIE BOP and DOOCHI BOP, which feature tofu and Korean-style vegetables.

Side dishes include the K-Dawg in Fruity Pebbles or Cheetos coating, plus OG Chicken Skewers and Panko Chicken Skewers served hot. Exclusive to JBR, the new K-Sando features glazed Korean chicken in a soft bun.

The menu also offers mandos, kimchi, Korean sodas, and Binggrae fish-shaped ice cream. Guests can finish their meal with a warm Hotteok, a Korean pancake filled with brown sugar and cinnamon.

CupBop also provides catering for private and corporate events. Options include party packs, buffet setups, live food trucks, and mascot appearances by Hoya. The brand showcased this service at UNTOLD Dubai, where its pop-up truck served festival visitors throughout the weekend.

CupBop will mark its JBR launch on 22 January. Guests are invited to visit the new store, select their spice level, and try Korean BBQ served in a cup.
