A well-known Dubai hotel next to Ibn Battuta Mall has a new name and a new look. Developer Seven Tides has officially launched NH Collection Dubai Ibn Battuta, following a phased renovation of the former Oaks Ibn Battuta Gate Hotel Dubai.
The 396-room hotel is owned by Seven Tides and managed by Minor Hotels. It becomes the second NH Collection address in Dubai and the group’s latest hospitality project, after NH Collection Dubai The Palm. That Palm Jumeirah hotel opened in 2023 and was the first NH Collection in the UAE.
What’s changed
The renovation covered guest rooms, suites and public areas, with new dining concepts added and the wider guest experience upgraded.
The room mix now runs from Collection, Superior and Premium Rooms to Junior, Family and Terrace Pool Suites. Some two-bedroom layouts are designed for families and longer stays. Club Rooms and suites include access to the Executive Lounge, and the Terrace Pool Suites come with private outdoor space and temperature-controlled pools.
Where to eat and drink
Dining now centres on a few key venues:
- Benihana, the Japanese teppanyaki restaurant
- Taste, a new all-day dining spot with a contemporary approach
- Nomad, a new café serving speciality coffee and lighter, wholesome bites
- Existing favourites, including Skyline Pool Bar, McGettigan’s and Rodeo Drive
Leisure and events
Guests can use a rooftop swimming pool, fitness centre, spa, beauty salon and Kids Club. For business and events, the hotel has an 871-square-metre meeting space, plus smaller meeting and breakout rooms. These can host conferences, corporate events, celebrations and private functions.
Why Seven Tides made the move
Ghanim Bin Sulayem, Group CEO and Managing Director of Seven Tides, described the project as a long-term investment in an established asset, made to keep pace with Dubai’s changing tourism and hospitality market. He said the success of NH Collection Dubai The Palm showed there was an opportunity to bring the same brand to Ibn Battuta. The aim is to appeal to leisure, corporate, group and MICE travellers.
Bin Sulayem added that the company is confident in Dubai’s hospitality sector and plans to keep looking for ways to invest in and improve its portfolio, in line with the emirate’s tourism goals.
Location
The hotel sits next to Ibn Battuta Mall, with easy access to Dubai’s main business, leisure and entertainment districts.
