Riva Beach Club on Palm Jumeirah has a new Friday ritual. The Friday Community BBQ Night runs every week from 6.30pm to 8.30pm around a live barbecue station, with the Arabian Gulf as the backdrop.
The idea is simple: food cooked in front of you, a long table and an evening that is not rushed. It is aimed at families ending the week together as much as groups of friends settling in for the night.
From the Grill
The chef works the live grill in full view. Striploin steak, Turkish-style lamb kabab and a classic grilled beef burger sit alongside shish tawook and jerk-spiced drumsticks. From the sea there is fish wrapped in banana leaf and chilli garlic shrimp skewers, while vegetarian options include rainbow garden vegetable skewers and charred buttered corn on the cob.
Around the grill, the table fills out with smoked corn and tomato rice, rustic Cajun potato wedges and fresh-baked country corn bread, plus salads such as a Thai-style grilled pineapple and noodle salad. House-made sauces, from smoky BBQ to fresh chimichurri, let guests build their own plate. Dessert arrives as mini lemon meringue tarts, fruit pavlovas and marshmallow skewers.
For Families
Younger guests get their own menu of margherita pizza, crispy golden fries, carnival corn dog pops and mac and cheese, along with a live popcorn station and a sugar candy station. Children under 8 dine free, and the club is pet friendly.
The Rest of the Week
The barbecue night joins Riva’s existing line-up. Weekday Vibes runs Monday to Thursday, with adult entry at AED 99 (AED 89 F&B credit) and Happy Hour from 3pm to 9pm. The Weekend Treat is AED 175 (AED 150 F&B credit). Steak & Wine takes over on Mondays, Ladies’ Day is on Wednesdays, and The Sunday Social offers unlimited mimosas.
