At The Florentin, luxury is defined by a highly personalised approach, where thoughtful service, attention to detail and a deep understanding of each guest shape the experience. Set within a meticulously restored historic estate in Frankfurt’s Sachsenhausen district, the hotel combines refined surroundings with intuitive, discreet hospitality. At the heart of this experience is the concierge team, led by Head Concierge Timo Dreissigacker. Drawing on extensive expertise and an in-depth knowledge of Frankfurt, the team provides a highly considered and personalised service, anticipating individual preferences and ensuring every stay is shaped around the needs of each guest.
Timo’s career in hospitality began at Disneyland Paris, where he worked as a porter and doorman and first became interested in the concierge profession. After gaining experience across France, Spain and Germany and completing three years at hotel management school, he took his first concierge position in 2002. His career then brought him to Villa Kennedy, where he spent 16 years developing his approach to luxury service while looking after a diverse international clientele and responding to an exceptional range of guest requests.
“During my 16 years at Villa Kennedy, I learned how to handle the most demanding guests and their most incredible requests, and I had the opportunity to meet a wide variety of glamorous personalities.” says Timo. “I loved the approach to service, which combined absolute professionalism with a special sense of ease. Every day there was a special one.”
Today, the historic estate forms part of The Florentin, marking a new chapter for the property under the Althoff COLLECTION. For Timo, joining the hotel as Head Concierge offered the opportunity to return to a place that had played such a significant role in his career while contributing to its next chapter. Timo says: “It was as if a fire had been reignited by a single spark, and I was determined to be part of the new team and project.”
The value of an experienced concierge has become even more relevant as travellers have access to increasingly vast amounts of information online. While guests can research restaurants, attractions and experiences themselves, selecting the right option still requires personal knowledge and judgement.
“Concierge service means making a guest’s stay as carefree as possible, serving as their personal assistant and simplifying their daily life in many areas and situations,” Timo explains. “Given today’s sensory overload, personal service and time dedicated to the guest are a very special luxury.”
His approach is echoed by his colleague Isabel Stadler, whose interest in hospitality began while preparing for her German high school diploma after watching a documentary about life and work aboard a cruise ship. Her subsequent training at the former Villa Kennedy introduced her to the principles of anticipation and highly personalised service, shaping the way she approaches guest relations today.
“A good concierge hears what the guest says, but a great concierge understands what the guest actually needs,” says Isabel. “We are not just here to book tables or arrange transfers, but to create trust and a peace of mind.”
That understanding informs how Isabel develops recommendations. Rather than relying on a standard list, she looks to establish a guest’s interests, preferences and dislikes before suggesting experiences. Her approach can involve presenting several contrasting options and observing the guest’s response, allowing her to refine recommendations and build a more individual itinerary.
For Timo, one of his most memorable experiences involved a guest who arrived in Frankfurt for a 14-day trip without any itinerary, placing the planning entirely in his hands. He arranged everything from destinations, luxury rental cars and boutique hotels to private guides, restaurants, shopping experiences and personal appointments. “Guests don’t just delegate their travel logistics to us, they often entrust us with their time, their private matters and, in many ways, their lives,” he says. That depth of local knowledge is particularly important in a city such as Frankfurt, where the concierge team looks beyond the established landmarks to introduce guests to lesser-known aspects of the destination. Timo recommends locations including the Baroque Holzhausenschlösschen, Frankfurt City Forest, Lohrberg and traditional apple-wine taverns, while Isabel points guests towards landmarks such as the Römerberg and Neue Altstadt as well as quieter discoveries including the Kaisersaal and Adolph-von-Holzhausen-Park.
As The Florentin welcomes more international travellers, both see the diversity of its guests as an important part of the role. Timo particularly values communicating with guests in different languages, while Isabel looks forward to learning from different cultures and using those interactions to demonstrate the qualities of German hospitality to an international audience.
The Florentin provides the setting for this personalised approach within one of Frankfurt’s distinctive historic properties. Located in Sachsenhausen, the hotel occupies a meticulously restored 1901 villa complemented by contemporary architecture. Its design combines historic character with a calm, modern aesthetic, while its garden, spa, dining venues and individually designed rooms and suites create an urban retreat within the city. The property is part of the Althoff COLLECTION, whose philosophy centres on excellence in cuisine, architecture, design and service.
