If you are still getting ready for Diwali, Choithrams has put together a checklist of festive gifts, decorations and snacks from its shelves, with prices starting at AED 0.75.
Sweets to give
A box of traditional sweets is the classic Diwali gift. The Kamlesh Shubhkamna 4-in-1 Gift Box (720g) is AED 19.95, Karachi Bakery’s Sparkling Splendour (750g) is AED 29.95 and Bikaji’s Festive Delight (1.03kg) is AED 31.50. At the top of the list, Karachi Bakery Premium Dry Fruit Mithai (300g) costs AED 49.95.
Decorations for the home
For the house, a set of 12 clay diyas costs AED 2.75 and an LED lotus diya is AED 3.75. Rangoli stencils start at AED 0.75, decorative torans for the doorway start at AED 5.75, and a Happy Diwali banner is AED 2.75.
Snacks for guests

To keep something ready for visitors, there is Bikaji Gulab Jamun (1kg) at AED 12.95, Bikaji Soan Papdi (500g) at AED 10.95, Karachi Bakery Mithas Snacks (500g) at AED 15.95 and a 1.5kg pack of Bikaji Namkeen Dawat at AED 46. Ferrero Rocher (300g) is also on the shelves in Diwali packaging.
Choithrams has not said which branches carry every item, so it is worth calling your nearest store before making a special trip.
If you would rather someone else did the cooking, Mövenpick Hotel Apartments Downtown Dubai has a Diwali garden buffet on 7 November, and hotels in Deira and the Gold District have Diwali dining from AED 75. For a gift with a little more sparkle, Miramira is pitching its gold-toned jewellery for Diwali.
