The Dubai Concept Store That Has Been Discovering Independent Designers for More Than 20 Years

The homegrown retail destination has spent more than two decades bringing independent designers, distinctive jewellery and unique finds to Dubai

In a city where the retail landscape has transformed dramatically over the past two decades, Boom & Mellow has remained committed to a simple idea: shopping should be about discovery.

Founded in Dubai in 2005, Boom & Mellow was created as an alternative to conventional retail, bringing together distinctive designers, independent brands, and pieces that customers would not find everywhere else. More than 20 years later, that original philosophy remains at the heart of the business.

Today, Boom & Mellow is an independent multi-brand concept store offering a carefully curated mix of fine jewellery, fashion, accessories, gifts, homeware and lifestyle finds from across the region and around the world.

Its jewellery collection brings together a selection of independent designers, including Kismet by Milka, Lito, by Delcy, Sigha while fashion and accessories span brands such as Sarah’s Bag, Borja, Inaash, Anton Heunis and The Jacksons Bags. The collection is intentionally eclectic and constantly evolving, with new designers and discoveries introduced alongside established favourites.

Rather than following a traditional seasonal retail model, Boom & Mellow has always been driven by curation. The stores are designed to encourage browsing and discovery, with customers able to move between fine jewellery, fashion, accessories, gifts and lifestyle pieces in one destination.

This approach has helped the business build a loyal customer base over more than two decades, while continuing to attract a new generation of shoppers looking for something more individual. For many long-standing customers, Boom & Mellow has become part of their Dubai shopping experience, with some now introducing the store to their daughters and families.

Its longevity also reflects the evolution of Dubai itself. Since opening its first store in Mall of the Emirates in 2005, Boom & Mellow has grown alongside a city that has become one of the world’s most dynamic retail and fashion destinations, while maintaining its position as an independent, homegrown business.

Today, Boom & Mellow has boutiques at Town Centre Jumeirah and The Springs Souk, alongside its online platform. Across its physical and digital spaces, the focus remains on connecting customers with designers and brands that have a distinctive identity and offering an experience centred around discovery rather than simply shopping.

As independent brands and more individual approaches to fashion continue to attract a new generation of consumers, the concept behind Boom & Mellow feels as relevant today as it did when the first store opened.

More than 20 years on, Boom & Mellow continues to champion independent design, uncover new talent, and give Dubai shoppers a place to find something unexpected.
