From Scratch by The Coffee Lab has started a weekly Saturday morning ritual at its Last Exit Al Khawaneej branch. Every Saturday at 10:30am, the ringing of a bell tells guests that a fresh batch of croissants has just come out of the oven, and the croissants are then brought straight to the tables.
How the Saturday croissant bell works
Once the bell has rung, a dedicated serving table makes its way around the café, taking the freshly baked croissants directly to customers. The idea is to turn a classic breakfast favourite into an interactive weekend ritual rather than something picked from a counter.
The experience runs only at the Al Khawaneej branch at Last Exit, and the croissants are paired with The Coffee Lab’s specialty coffee. The release does not give prices for the croissants or say how many are baked in each batch, so it is worth arriving close to 10:30am.
Baked in house
The croissants are prepared by From Scratch Concept, which is The Coffee Lab’s fully operational in-house kitchen. The brand says the bake reflects its focus on freshness, craftsmanship and quality.
The Coffee Lab is a homegrown Dubai specialty coffee brand. It began as a container café on the Port Rashid waterfront and has grown into a multi-floor destination at Marina Views, Mina Rashid. That site brings together an in-house coffee roastery, a specialty coffee bar, the From Scratch Concept kitchen and Cocoa Pod, its bean-to-bar chocolate studio, under one roof.
